2017 Goals and Putting them to Practice

Here are the goals I listed in the previous post:

1) Work on taking items of minuscule value less seriously.

Method:  Use this mantra:  Will it matter a month from now?  Probably not.

This is going to be a daily habit building practice.

2)  Increase physical fitness.

Method:  Work out 30 minutes x 5 per week.  Off on weekends, working out on work days.

3)  Improve health through diet.

Method:  Limit diet for first 6 weeks of the year to plant based foods with the exception of chicken breast and eggs.  After 6 weeks, see what has changed and work on removing all animal based foods.

I started this morning with a glass of almondmilk and brewed some tea concentrate including fresh chopped ginger.  After boiling the ginger, I tasted it.  Lots of heat!  I put the concentrate into a couple of bottles.  I had to use maple syrup for sweetener since I am avoiding white sugar and we didn't have enough honey in the house.  I'm also adding fish to the mix.  Salmon's on the menu for dinner tonight.

4) Read the Word

Method:  Follow the Bible in One Year Plan.  Do your best to stick to it.

I'm really on day 45, because I started a while ago, but I had to catch myself up.

5)  Finish three WIPs.

Method:  Choose three WIPs from your Ravelry queue and work each until finished.
  1. Bamboo Socks
  2. Howlcat for MM
  3. Blossom Toes

6)  Read one book per month from your bookshelf.

Method:  Choose one book per month.  Read a bit each day.  Write a blog entry at the end of the month about the experience of reading the book and what you learned from it.

I have exactly 12 books waiting to be read.  One is sitting in my car, so, you can only see the 11 remaining.
