Hey, Fat Girl.

FlintLand: Hey, Fat Girl.: Yes, you. The one feigning to not see me when we cross paths on the running track. The one not even wearing sports gear, breathing heavy...

I read this, and it made me feel as humbled and as special as I felt Sunday on my run when a man I passed on my run gave me a thumbs up.  I was giddy and just felt amazing.  This blog makes me feel the same way.

It's humbling, because there are people out there who really appreciate what those of us who are newer to running are trying to do.  There are people out there who have been someone like me, someone who weighs well over 200 pounds, someone who is running in spite of his or herself.  There are people out there who made the decision to live and be active and stop waiting to do so until the weight comes off.  The weight won't come off until you let it go.  You let it go by lifting weights.  You let it go by running, walking, rollerblading, riding a bike... You let it go by ceasing to be who you are now and being the person you have been waiting to be all this time.  That person will not just show up at the bathroom mirror one morning.  You have to work on becoming him or her.  You need to be who you want to be NOW!  Your body will follow suit, and it might not be perfect, but it's yours.  You can do what you haven't done before.  There is a key to that, though.  That key is keeping your focus.

Read the above blog entry.  Think about it.  Think about how you view those who are trying if you are on that side of the coin, or, if you are the Fat Girl, know that there are people out there who admire you for what you're doing.  I know.  It's kinda shocking, but you need to embrace it, embrace yourself and stay in it to win it.  Be in it for the season, not just the game.  Make it happen.  See it through.
